What makes our composter different?

Our project is changing the way urban communities compost their excess food.  We provide a new, sustainable method for restaurants to dispose of their food waste without contributing to climate change and other major environmental problems.  In our composter, food waste is transformed into fresh soil, which is then used to grow the ingredients used by these restaurants, in a cycle of reuse and recycling. 

 

Traditional composting isn’t a realistic option for many cities, as it requires large spaces, takes months to fully biodegrade, and is prone to infestation from rodents and other pests.  However, by creating an automated in-vessel compost unit masquerading as a dumpster, we can make composting efficient and convenient.

 

Our project is removing the stigmatization of composting impacting many city residents.  New legislation in major cities across America will mandate restaurants to dispose of their food waste via compost, creating a new market for this project.  


By changing the way composting is viewed within cities, we are presenting compost and food waste from a Fresh Perspective.
