In order to ensure that our conceptual designs are viable, we performed extensive research into the scientific and legal aspects of the project.  In order to research on the components of the actual composting device, we needed to evaluate the specific problem definition, multiple approaches, criteria and constraints, and a target audience.  We used this research to improve upon and modify our designs to make the composter as efficient, eco-friendly and usable as possible.
