Comparative Analysis
Wasteless has multiple advantages over FOR Solutions. One of them is that FOR composters require an additive, while Wasteless composters do not. This bulk agent consists of wood chips, cardboard, and/or wood dust. Additionally, FOR advertises their unit as a five-day composting process. Our design is more time-efficient, taking only two days to fully decompose the food material. Lastly, FOR has a different application. While we sell to restaurants and food-distribution centers in cities, FOR does larger scale installations. They distribute their services to places like universities, hotels, and airports. A unit the size of FOR's would not geometrically fit into a city street, but ours is specifically designed for this end-use.
XACT Systems is another company that is similar to ours. However, we have many advantages that set us apart from their products. First, their system is too large to put in a city street. Even if it would fit, people would tamper with it because it is not secured. Our design is more compact and is covered in a dumpster casing, making it inconspicuous. Also, XACT's shredder design is completely open, which is dangerous for human use and allows animals to get inside of the shredder. Our design is contained and is controlled via a Bluetooth app, unlike our competitors.
One advantage that we have over GMT's design is that our device is powered by solar energy, making it more beneficial to the environment. Not only that, but if GMT's unit were implemented in a city environment, people might tamper with it. Again, because we use the casing of a dumpster, people would not notice it or tamper with any of the mechanical parts of the unit itself. Lastly, their design does not utilize a shredder component, unlike our composting unit.
